Don Vogler

Class of 1994

Donald Eugene Vogler, born on January 23, 1946, and was an extraordinary man, an exceptional father, mentor, and leader whose contributions to the candy industry will never be forgotten.

A second-generation candy broker, Don was a mentor and leader whose contributions to the candy industry are far reaching.

He joined brokerage Hoffmann Vogler, founded by his father, Gene, and Sydney Hoffmann, and built it into a highly regarded business in the industry he dearly loved, before passing it on to all three of his children — Audra, Todd, and Clint — which made him particularly proud.

His achievements were recognized throughout his career, including his induction into the Candy Hall of Fame in 1994. In 2011, he was honored by his peers with the NCA Golden Candy Dish Award, a symbol of his impact on the industry.

Vogler is remembered for his storytelling, infectious energy, and wit. He was an avid enthusiast of boating, pickleball, tennis, and golf, where he made lasting memories with friends and loved ones.

Don passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 79, leaving behind a remarkable legacy both personally and professionally.

At the time of his death, Don was survived by his wife, Patricia, his children, and grandchildren Ryan, Jason, Grace, Riley, and Brady, as well as his sister, Marilyn. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Eugene and Lorraine and his brother Lawrence.
