Valeria E. Stansfield

Class of 1997

Born September 16, 1952, in Lancaster, KY, Val attended Tates Creek High School in Lexington and the University of Kentucky. She married Michael James in September 1978.

With more than 20 years in the industry, Val spent the 11 years prior to her induction as senior buyer for Revco Drug Stores. She began her career in 1973 at Mr. Wiggs Department Store as a buyer of children’s clothing, but in 1977 became a buyer for candy, snacks and cosmetics.

Val’s industry honors include a Sherwood Partners Award in 1994, 1995 and 1996, a Hershey Outstanding Merchandising Support Award and a Nutcracker Snacks President’s Sales Award. In 1994, she won a Professional Candy Buyer Outstanding Achievement Award.
