Tim LeBel
Class of 2019
Tim LeBel loves that the candy industry produces moments that make the world smile.
Born on March 7, 1967, in Nashua, New Hampshire, Tim credits his parents for molding him into the person he is today.
A 1985 graduate of Alvirne High School in Hudson, New Hampshire, Tim attended Southern New Hampshire University, majoring in marketing and finance.
He earned a Masters in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University and in 2008 he attended the Global Business Consortium at the London School of Business Center for Management Development.
His love of soccer was what first attracted him to Mars, as the company was a World Cup sponsor.
With more than two decades of experience at Mars, Tim began his career as a Sales Representative, providing a strong foundation in customer service and retail operations.
Through the years, Tim has taken on a variety of roles, ranging from Senior National Account Manager to Vice-President of Strategic Accounts, consistently delivering strong growth for Mars and its valued customers. Tim also served a critical role in the company’s merging with Wrigley, participating as a core member of the integration team which ensured a seamless transition, creating increased value for both organizations.
In Tim’s current role as President of Sales for Mars Wrigley Confecionery U.S., he is responsible for driving customer centricity across the candymaker’s business, leading hundreds of associates in delivering exceptional customer service, consumer insights and innovation to its valued retail partners.
Highly regarded at Mars Wrigley as one of the top mentors and teachers, Tim’s disciples have gone on to become executives at Target, Walmart and of course within Mars.
“Tim is tremendous in helping young professionals embrace our great industry,” says 2012 Candy Hall of Fame member and Mars Wrigley associate Tim Quinn, who adds: “He has also worked tirelessly with the trade in advancing the importance of confectionery to their product mix. As the saying goes, ‘A rising tide lifts all boats.’ Tim lives this every day.”
In his free time, Tim and his wife, Nancy, love watching their sons, Devin and Bryce, play soccer.
An avid soccer player himself, Tim continues to play. He is also a fan of live music, attending as many concerts as possible. And as a passionate Boston sports fan, you’re likely to find him at a game for any of the city’s professional sports teams, home or away.
When asked about his Candy Hall of Fame induction, Tim reflects: “It means I made a difference in the category I truly love and that I represented the Mars family the right way. Mutuality is one of our principles and this recognition validates that I gave back to the industry that has supported me for over 29 years.”
