Tim Galloway
Class of 2026
For more than four decades, Tim Galloway has distinguished himself as a respected business leader, advocate and innovator, advancing the confectionery industry through his expertise in dairy ingredients.
Born January 10, 1954, in Neenah, Wisconsin, to John and Peggy, Tim grew up as one of six children, learning early the importance of teamwork, responsibility and working toward a common goal.
After graduating from Neenah High School in 1972, Tim planned to pursue a law degree. Before beginning college, however, he took an adventurous gap year that included managing a congressional campaign, working at a Vermont ski lodge and traveling across the country to California before returning home to work in the family business.
Tim earned a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 1976 and a Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1980. He then returned home to join Galloway Company full time.
His connection to the confectionery industry began in 1983, when he became Galloway Company’s national sweetened condensed milk salesperson. Tim jokes that he entered the business as an SOB — “Son of the Boss” — but he quickly established his own reputation by combining technical knowledge with an ability to understand customers’ challenges and develop solutions.
Tim became president of Galloway Company in 1989 and assumed the roles of chief executive officer and chairman of the board in 2000. Under his leadership, the company became one of the nation’s leading suppliers of dairy ingredients to the confectionery, frozen dessert and beverage industries. He retired as chief executive officer in 2024 but remains actively involved as chairman of the board.
Among the accomplishments Tim values most are helping develop an innovative caramel that simplified production for customers, designing a tank valve washer for long-distance dairy transportation and launching Galloway’s beverage business through a licensing partnership in the Netherlands.
One of Tim’s defining achievements came during the 1990s, when changes to the Federal Milk Marketing Orders created a pricing structure that disadvantaged fresh milk used in confectionery manufacturing. Drawing on his legal and dairy expertise, he spent two years working with industry partners to restore parity between fluid milk and dried dairy ingredients.
Tim’s impact extends beyond Galloway. He has been active in industry organizations, including AACT, PMCA, the NCA, IDFA, the Institute of Food Technologists, and the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association. He chaired the Milwaukee Section of AACT, spent two decades on the Kettle Committee, presented educational programs, and mentored young professionals.
His contributions have earned numerous honors, including the Wisconsin Dairy Products Association President’s Award in 2024 and the International Dairy Foods Association Dairy Laureate Award in 2025.
Tim has brought that same commitment to his community, serving organizations focused on education, health care, youth development, the arts, civic leadership, and philanthropy. He says successful businesses have a responsibility to strengthen their communities — a philosophy that also guides continued investment in employees, customers, and community.
Tim met Siv Lindgren, a former Swedish exchange student who returned to Neenah to earn her teaching degree, through community theater. They married on August 3, 1985, in Nässjö, Sweden, and have three children: Sofia, Erik, and Annika.
Known for his humility and collaborative leadership, Tim encourages young professionals to get involved in industry associations and deepen their technical knowledge to better understand customers and solve their problems.
Throughout his career, Tim has exhibited technical expertise, leadership, and genuine concern for others. For all he has accomplished, his hope for how he will be remembered is characteristically simple: as a friend people can count on — and someone they’d enjoy having dinner with.
