Ross Bainbridge

Class of 2006

Ross was born September 29, 1941, in Grand Rapids, MI. He served six years in the Army Reserve’s 791st Transportation Company and received his associates degree in business from Grand Rapids Community College.

In 1966, he married Bonnie, and they have three sons, Scott, Rodney and Bryan. The next year Ross began his career at Werner Machinery (now Baker Perkins Group) where he designed an adaptation of the company’s cookie wire cut machine. His design became a mainstay in the industry and is still available today.

In 1982, Ross became a partial owner and vice-president of Whetstone Machinery. At the time of induction he was a managing partner of Bainbridge Associates, a sales and service company representing many of the world’s leading manufacturers of process equipment. Ross, along with Bonnie and his son, Bryan, founded the company in 1996.

Ross has been active in the industry as a member of the NCA Associate Advisory Board, and he sat on the first All Candy Expo Committee. He was also the first Supplier Representative on the NCA Board of Directors and a member of the Candy Industry Kettle Committee.

Today, he serves on the Board of Directors of the Railside Golf Club in Byron Center, MI. Aside from work, Ross enjoys spending time with his grandchildren and playing golf.
