Nathan Sloane
Class of 1975
A 68-year veteran of the candy business, Nathan was born in Boston in 1908. A graduate of Chelsea High School, he began his career as a candy wholesale wagon jobber, starting his own company in 1926.
Nathan began his candy-making career with the Fox Cross Candy Co. where he developed the company’s signature Charleston Chew candy bar. Following the 1980 sale of Fox Cross to Nabisco, he became a consultant to Nabisco and later, Warner-Lambert. He retired in 1995.
During his career, Nathan served as president of the Northeast Candy Manufacturers Assoc. and received the Kettle Award in 1974.
Nathan passed away August 14, 2006.
