Leonard H. Sisitzky

A 40-year veteran of the candy business and president of his own company at the time of his induction, Leonard was born in Springfield, MA in 1924. A 1942 graduate of John Fitch High School, Windsor, CT, he earned his B.A. from University of Connecticut in 1950.
Leonard began his sales career with the Beech Nut Co. later joining the J. O. Welch Co. where he served as Northeast division sales manager for nine years. He then joined the Schrafft Candy Co. as national sales manager, a position he held for 11 years until forming L.H. Sisitzky Sales, Inc. in 1976.
Active in the industry throughout his long career, Leonard served as president of the National Candy Brokers Assoc. in 1986. In 1981 he was named Candy Ambassador by the American Wholesale Marketers Assoc. Six years later, he received the 1987 Clarence McMillan Award, followed the next year with the awarding of the Lou Spector Award. In 1990 he received the Al Fowler Award.
Leonard passed away October 3, 2017.
