Class of 1999
Born July 6, 1944, in Springfield, MA, Jim graduated from Technical High School and attended American International College in Springfield, earning a degree in business administration. In 1962, he married Elizabeth Ann, raising two children; Anthony and Linda.
In 1968, Jim began his candy career as a territory sales representative/Northeast Division at Nabisco Confections. In 1976, he joined Frank D’Orlando Food Brokers as vice-president of sales. Following a brief time as territory sales representative for the Northeast Division at L.H. Sisitzky Sales, Inc. Jim joined Fleer Corp. serving as eastern regional manager. In 1996, he became eastern regional manager at Trolli, Inc. and at the time of his induction, he was eastern regional manager at American Candy Co.
In 1991, Jim won the Doc Reed Award from the National Candy Brokers Association. He credited his varied background in the candy business for helping to make his induction possible. The biggest factor in my success was my roots with a very large and well- respected national candy company and being able to have worked with two well-respected New England brokers – Frank D’Orlando Co. and Len Sisitzky.
