James A. Gold

Jim was born May 23, 1944, in Buffalo, NY. His education began at St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute and he then went on to Millard Fillmore College and The University of Buffalo SUNY where he earned a degree in Business Administration. Jim and his wife Sandy were married on May 10, 1997 and have three children.
Jim started his career on the retail side in 1966 at Tops Friendly Markets. He left Tops in 1982 as director of general merchandise and purchased his father’s brokerage business, Murphy Young. After the sale of that business in 1995, Jim opened J.A. Gold Associates where he was president and CEO at the time of his induction.
During his brokerage career, Jim earned awards from companies such as Mayfair Sales where he was recognized in the Six Figure Club and as Broker of the Year. He has also been honored by Trolli, Callard & Bowser, Jaret International, Amurol Confections, Peerless Confections and Cornuts.
Jim says one of the most memorable moments was being awarded Broker of the Year honors by Score/Pinnacle Trading Cards and meeting their spokesman, Joe DiMaggio.
