Jack S. Mahon

Class of 1995

A graduate of Northeastern University, where he earned a degree in marketing and eonomics, Jack also served his country, reaching the rank of Captain in the Quartermaster Corp, ASAR.

He had been in the food industry for 42 years at the time of his induction, starting as a grocery clerk for Stop & Shop in his hometown of Milford, MA. He worked his way up through the corporation, holding positions including store manager, direct buyer and grocery sales manager in its Connecticut Division.

In 1989, he was promoted to the position of buyer/merchandiser for confections at the company’s headquarters in Quincy, MA.

During his career, Jack showed himself to be a man of personal and professional integrity. He dedicated many years to the grocery industry and to the candy category, and demonstrated a high degree of leadership and was an acknowledged market expert.

He was honored for his accomplishments both in business and in his personal life. His long list of awards and honors include: Appreciation Award, Touchdown Club, United Cerebral Palsy Humanitarian Service Award, Recognition for the March of Dimes, and Connecticut’s Food Store Association Man of the Year award.

Jack and his wife Jude raised four children.
