Howard T. Cook

At the time of his induction, Howard was vice-president, sales of Hershey Chocolate U.S.A. the largest division of Hershey Foods Corp.
He joined the company in 1979 as manager, special markets for Hershey Chocolate U.S.A. Prior to Hershey, he worked for Nestlé, Inc, Reed Candy Co. and GMC Brokerage Co. In 1967 he joined Y&S Candies, Inc. as sales manager, rising to vice-president, sales and marketing in 1971. Following the company’s 1977 acquisition by Hershey Chocolate U.S.A. Howard was named director, special markets in 1981. Recognizing his talents, the company named him vice-president, sales in 1984.
A native of Dike, Iowa, Howard received a B.A. in economics from Dartmouth College. His industry honors include his election as Dean of the Confectionery Industry by the board of the National Candy Wholesalers Assoc. Howard has also been honored for his contributions to the industry, being named as a Pioneer of the Industry by the National Food Brokers Assoc. In 1987 he was named Candy Manufacturer of the Year by the New York Candy and Tobacco Assoc. In recognition of his long commitment to the confectionery industry, Howard was inducted into the Candy Hall of Fame in 1987.
