Gertrude Kluck

Trudy Kluck was born in October, 1902 in Milwaukee, WI, and began her writing career as a reporter for Wisconsin State newspapers. The first journalist admitted to the Candy Hall of Fame, Trudy started working for Northwest Confectioner magazine in 1922, becoming editor the following year.

Trudy was a founding member of the National Candy Wholesalers Assoc. (now the American Wholesale Marketing Assoc.) and, in 1936, became the first woman to address the convention of the National Confectioners’ Association.

In 1940, Northwest Confectioner was renamed The Confectioner and Trudy was named publisher in 1949. Trudy Kluck passed away in November, 1992.
