Frank F. Vurraro

Class of 1984

Born in October, 1915, in Syracuse, NY, Frank was a graduate of Nottingham High School where he concentrated his studies in business administration.

His long career in the food industry began when he joined the National Bakery Co.’s bread division as a salesman where he was honored as Salesman of The Year in 1942. After five years with the company, Frank became a co-owner of the Dale Market, which he was associated with for 20 years.

Frank’s sales career continued with F&R Confectionery Sales where he dedicated 26 years to the sale and promotion of candy. Following the merger of F&R with Ross Empire State Brokers in 1984, Frank continued to be active in the industry until his retirement in 1995. In recognition of his 35-year commitment to the advancement of the confectionery industry, Frank was inducted into the Candy Hall of Fame in 1984.
