Earl K. Manhold Jr.

Class of 1975

At the time of his induction in 1975, Earl was president of Reed Candy Co. and Clark Gum Co. becoming chairman and CEO later the same year.

Born in Franklinville, NY in 1921, Earl attended Gasport High School and Fenn College prior to embarking on his 40 year career in the candy business.

Earl’s began his career as production manager at Hawley & Hoops in 1946, joining Hart Confections as vice-president in 1953. In 1958 he moved to Luden’s Inc, becoming vice-president of sales. He joined Reed Candy Co. and Clark Gum Co. as president in 1970.

Earl retired in 1986.

Earl passed away January 11, 2001.
