Dwight E. Iverson

Class of 1992

Dwight was born and raised in a rural town in Iowa, attended high school in Essex, IA, and graduated from Chicago’s North Park College in 1956. He was also a 1959 graduate of Drake University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy. He and his wife, Giannina, raised two sons, David and Jim.

His diversified career, with exception of his first year after graduation, was entirely with the Walgreens Drug Co. of Chicago. From 1960 to 1971 he worked as a pharmacist, then as a store manager in Springfield, Peoria, and Moline, IL.

In 1971, he was promoted to national candy merchandiser at Walgreens’ head office. In 1978, he became national candy buyer. Following his retirement he served as a consultant to the company.
