Bruce Gibbons

Class of 1998

Bruce was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on August 3, 1944. He came to the U.S. as a child, settling in Fort Worth, TX. He attended Arlington State and later married Karen in 1987. They raised five children.

He started his candy career as a sales representative for Hershey Chocolate beginning in 1966. He later became a sales representative, branch manager and then vice-president of Atkinson-Crawford Candy Co. At the time of his induction he was co-owner and president of the firm.

Bruce earned the Candy Salesman of the Year award from the Texas Association of Wholesale Distributors in 1981 and 1991. The organization also made him a member of its Quarter Century Club.
