Bert Amada
Class of 1995
Bert was born October 13, 1929, in Newark, NJ. He attended Central High School and Fairleigh Dickenson University before joining the military in 1951, in which he served as a U.S. Army Corporal until 1953.
Bert had spent 40 years in the candy industry at the time of his induction, starting his career in 1955 with F&F Laboratories. During the next 20 years he held positions at Lipton & Lazarus, Jaret & Diamond, Acorn Food, and Irving Golub Co. In 1974 he joined brokerage Golick-Martins.
Bert was an active member of the New York Candy Club, serving as its president in 1974, and receiving its Presidential Award in 1984.
