Allen R. Allured

Class of 1998

Born January 11, 1927, in Oak Park, IL, Al graduated from Oak Park High School and attended Kenyon, Illinois and Colorado Colleges. He served in both World War II and the Korean War before joining Manufacturing Confectioner and Candy Buyers’ Directory, trade publications founded in 1921 by his parents, Prudence and Earl.

Al served on the National Confectioners Association’s Long-Term Planning Committee and was a member of the Pennsylvania Manufacturing Confectioners Association Executive Committee at the time of his induction.

He is a recipient of the Stroud Jordan Award from the American Association of Candy Technologists, the Retail Confectioners International President’s Award, National Candy Brokers Association Silver Kettle and was elected a Dean of both the NCA and the American Wholesale Marketers Association.
