Paul Nadel

Class of 2003

Paul was born August 9, 1944, in the Bronx, NY, to Beatrice and Joseph. He attended Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck, NJ.

In 1965, he married Barbara and they have two children – Wendy and Steven. Paul credits his wife as being the biggest influence on his career, saying she “has pushed me and challenged me to be the best I can be in my profession.”

Paul began his candy career in 1966 as district manager at manufacturer Hollywood Brands, Inc., which then produced Payday, Zero, Butternut and Milkshake candy bars. He joined brokerage Abe Josephsohn Co. in 1969 as sales manager until taking on similar duties at E.A. Berg & Sons in 1972. In 1976, he became vice-president of confectionery at The Ferolie Group brokerage. He is currently president and chief operating officer at Ferolie.

A 37-year industry veteran, Paul attributes hard work, truthfulness and being a team player as key factors to his success, as well as helping others understand and execute their responsibilities.

The most memorable moment in his career was transitioning from a “small confectionery world to the much larger world of grocery, HBC, general merchandise and perishables at Ferolie.”

When he’s not selling candy, Paul enjoys attending professional basketball games and theater, as well as supporting charities such as the Muscular Dystrophy Association and the March of Dimes.

Words of wisdom he wishes to pass on are “be honest, straightforward and believe in yourself.”
