Morton B. Gleit
Class of 1985
Mort Gleit was born in June of 1935 in Brooklyn, NY. In 1953, he graduated from Overbrook High School in Philadelphia, PA, and went on to earn both a bachelors degree and an MBA in marketing from Temple University.
Throughout his 42-year career in the brokerage industry, Mort has continually worked for the advancement of the confectionery trade. As president of Eisman-Gleit Co. his commitment to the industry is exemplified in his being named a Candy Ambassador by the NCWA. Mort’s service to the industry includes serving as the president of the Philadelphia Candy Club, as well as president of the National Confectionery Sales Assoc. from 1993 through 1995. Inducted into the Candy Hall of Fame in 1985, his father, Sam, was posthumously inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1999.
