Mike Blumenthal

Class of 1980

Born in Center Moriches, NY, on August 17, 1918, Mike graduated from Lawrence High School in 1935 and in 1939 earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from he University of Pennsylvania.

Mike began his career in the industry in 1939 when he joined the Blumenthal Bros. Chocolate Co. He left the company in 1941 to serve in U.S. Army Air Corp.

At war’s end, he returned home to marry Dorothy in 1946. That same year, he became an independent broker until his retirement in 1978.

In addition to his long tenure in the brokerage industry, Mike served as president of the Boston Confectionery Salesmen’s Club in 1969 and in 1977 became a 25-year member of the NCSA.
