Howard Smillie

Class of 1995

Howard was born May 8, 1922 in Sommerville, MA. He attended Arlington High School and Northeastern University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration. Howard married Anne in 1956 and they raised four children; Beth, Pamela, Martha and H. Allen.

Howard worked in the family’s candy wholesale business following his 1948 release from the U.S. Army.

He was honored as the Candy Man of the Year in 1974, and served on the Board of Directors of the National Candy Wholesalers Association from 1970 to 1974.
